It definitely feels like privacy has become an afterthought. Social media platforms should prioritize privacy in designs and implementations. Do you believe it is realistic that they will? I have some doubts, but hope it gets better in the coming years.

I share your doubts, Rasmus, but I see potential for change over time. Companies that prioritize privacy in their products might outperform those that don't, gradually shifting market values. Significant change requires shifts in incentives, as current power structures and limited regulations aren't enough to move the needle against the rush to market driven by intense competition. However, as new security technologies emerge and consumer demand for privacy grows, companies may begin to prioritize privacy more seriously in their designs and implementations.

It definitely starts through more awareness. I struggle to see a way the rush to market strategy doesn’t stay dominant without big changes. We’re bound to see a couple of scandals before real change I think.
